Ocean Vagabong
Location: Club Mistral & Skyriders Ocean Vagabond Dakhla is located at the northern end of a 40 km lagoon on the Dakhla peninsula. The city of Dakhla and the airport are about 28 km away. Depending on the tide the bungalows are located right on the water’s edge.
Amenities and facilities: Ocean Vagabond is a conglomeration of 20 bungalows, a restaurant and bar (serving alcohol) as well as our Club Mistral & Skyriders Center right on the water’s edge (at high tide). There is also a shop and a cozy chill-out corner. Even in this remote, desert environment you don’t have to survive without internet – a WiFi stick for your laptop is available at 15 EUR/week. Valuables can be stored at the hotel safe. A laundry service is available at an extra charge.
Rooms: The wooden bungalows are about 25m² in size and rather spacious. They are bright and functionally furnished with three beds, closet and bathroom with shower/WC. Thanks to the double walls the bungalows stay warm even in the winter. Equipped with massive wood furniture the rooms provide a rather spartan, yet modern atmosphere and small accessories are set with great attention to detail. Each bungalow has a private terrace with large wooden chairs. The wind always comes from the back so the terrace is wind proofed and you can always relax in the wind shadow.
Please don't take your bath towel to the beach. You can purchase a beach towel at the boutique or simly bring your own towel.
YOUNGBLOOD CAMP: Since July 2011 Ocean Vagabond features eight Youngblood Bungalows, which are smaller with space for 2 people only. They have shared facilities (shower/WC) and no integrated bathroom like the standard ones. Thus they are perfect for families or small-budget surfers.
Ecological note: The Ocean Vagabond takes a leading role in terms of ecological compatibility and adapts perfectly the surrounding nature. The bungalows have been built with recycled wood from an old stable. Each bungalow has a solar panel on the roof as well as a warm water tank. Fresh water comes from a deep well, located 5 km away.
The complex has its own waste water facility, and the processed water will be used on the premise for irrigation. Furthermore, LED lights help to reduce energy.
Due to the water shortage in this remote destination and in consideration of the local people we ask all our guests to limit the use fresh water and energy.

Board basis: Full board – breakfast is served in buffet style, different snacks are available for lunch and in the evening you will have a choice of 2-3 meals. One bottle of water per room is provided free of charge for lunch and for dinner. Additional drinks are payable locally.
Excursions: Excursions to the wave spot, down winder with boat shuttle, City tour Dakhla etc. are available on the spot at 15 EUR each.
Travel information: Flights to Dakhla are available via Casablanca and/or Agadir. The flights arrive in the evening. The transfer takes about 15-20 minutes. Depending on the flight schedule you might have to add an extra night in Casablanca. Therefore, we cooperate with Atlas Hotel Airport in Casablanca who will also provide the airport shuttle.
Our opinion: A unique accommodation in a fantastic setting at the lagoon in the desert nature. Far away from civilization you will enjoy the tranquillity, the spot and the sport with like-minded Surfers.
